Texas High Adventure Base

Watersports, boating,  high adventure, and living history!  That’s us.  The Longhorn Council’s Texas High Adventure Base. Unique programs for youth and adults alike.  Click here for the NEW Chisholm Trail 2015 video.

Our flagship program is the Chisholm Trail Adventure – a unique combination of a week-long boating trek, high adventure, watersports, and living history battles.  You get a pontoon boat for a week, do six high adventure outposts, and cool off with watersports all afternoon every day!  Spend a week navigating our camp’s 15 miles of shoreline on 10,000 acre Lake Bridgeport as you drive your pontoon boat to our high adventure outposts, fight in living history battles, tube, wakeboard, windsurf, Blob, and more!

Troops and Crews from 44 states, England, Scotland, and Mexico have come to Chisholm Trail.

Scouts and adults can also spend a week learning to wakeboard at the Steele Island Wakeboarding Program.  Steele Island was developed by expert wakeboarders from Weatherford, Granbury, and Jacksboro – all Longhorn Council Eagle Scouts. The program focuses on developing wakeboarding and skiing skills.

The Brazos River Canoe Trip (BRCT) is a 50-mile canoe camping trip that is a Worth Ranch tradition! Spend a week on the river, earn BSA’s 50 Miler award, and test your canoeing, camping, and fishing skills. We do 4 miles of hiking and 47 miles paddling the scenic Brazos River from Possum Kingdom Dam to Oak’s Crossing. BRCT is an excellent training trip for Northern Tier.

The Tahuaya Kayak Adventure is a week-long sea kayak camping trip with a wild caving trip at the end!  Test your kayaking, camping, and fishing skills and spend a week paddling, camping, and fishing on the Lampassas River and Stillhouse Hollow Lake.
